About Gumnut labs
Bringing people more joy from the memories they capture.
At Gumnut Labs, we're building the agent-native infrastructure for photos — an open, AI-powered alternative to the sealed photo ecosystems of today.
Why Gumnut exists
Every photo was taken for a purpose. Most never get a second life.
People take an enormous number of photos and videos, but most live untouched in the attic of a camera roll, Google Photos, or iCloud. Each one was captured for a reason — a moment that mattered — and today that meaning quietly fades.
In the past year, AI has gained the ability to meaningfully understand what's in a photo: who you were with, what you were doing, where you were, when it happened, and how you took it. But the photo platforms we rely on are sealed ecosystems. They don't let agents — or the tools you actually use — help you share, remix, collaborate, or remember.
Gumnut is an open alternative to Google and Apple Photos, built from the ground up for humans and agents. With Gumnut, any AI agent — ChatGPT, Claude, OpenClaw — can help you curate, share, and give your photos new life.
What we believe
Principles that shape everything we build.
Agent-native from day one
Every part of Gumnut is built on first-class APIs, SDKs, and am MCP server. If you can use an agent, you can use Gumnut.
Open, not sealed
Photos belong to the people who took them. Our platform is designed to integrate, not lock in.
AI in service of joy
We use AI to help people reconnect with the memories they've captured — not to optimize attention or engagement.
One platform, many use cases
Consumer joy and B2B Photo Intelligence run on the same foundation — the same infrastructure powers both.
Gumnut's leadership team
